A relic from the past

When I was around 9 or 10, Santa or my mom gave me a Fisher Price record player. Boy, did I love it. I remember playing Sesame Street 45s and Disney records. While I'm not sure where my records are, several years ago I found my player at my parents' house. Recently, I took it out and played a 45 from 'The Aristocats' that uses to belong to my husband. Eena eagerly followed the story in the book. Baba's toy music phone preoccupied her. I felt such nostalgia being able to not only share a toy from my childhood but one that is almost prehistoric with iTunes, CDs and YouTube. Gosh, I was born in 1974 and I feel ancient.

Full recovery

Baba is finally better after being sick with a stomach flu for five days. I've never seen her that sick (vomiting, etc.) We had to bring her to the ER last week to get re-hydrated. It was the first time since she started walking that she didn't want to play. She just sat with us all day. She asked to watch "Yo Gabba Gabba" over and over. Thankfully, she's OK and it didn't spread to anyone else in the house.

Big sister Eena enjoyed playing doctor with her new doctor's kit and "took" Baba's temperature several times.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Eena!

Eena turned 3 today. On Saturday, we hosted a party at our house with her friends. The kids made crafts (colored and put stickers on flower pots and bookmarks), played inside and outside, and had their faces painted.

Today, Eena opened presents from Apa, Mommy, Daddy and Baba. We took the girls to Nibbles Cafe in Wheeling. They played, listened to music and had a snack of goldfish. The girls are napping now, but we'll have some leftover cupcakes for dessert. Eena, by the way, ate her first cupcake at her party. It's official, she loves cupcakes!
